  • Representing the administrators of MF Global in a proceeding under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, filed by Sify Technologies Ltd., in the Bombay High Court, and advising them on litigation strategy.
  • Advised Elliott Advisors (HK) Limited on enforcement of a foreign award in India.
  • Assisted Varian Medical Systems India Pvt. Ltd. on settling an outstanding money dispute and drafting the settlement agreement.
  • Advising Rolta India Limited on a dispute relating to breach of contract for installation of air conditioning units and recovery of money.
  • Advising Raines Feldman LLP on the preparation of Letter of Request from a court in the US seeking to obtain evidence in India.
  • Advising ArthoCare Corporation, a leading medical devices company headquartered in the US, on resolving a dispute with its Indian distributor.
  • Representing Wockhardt Ltd., a leading Indian pharmaceuticals company, in various civil litigation matters in India and overseas and criminal litigation matters in India, including as follows: (i) defending an ex-parte order passed by a German court in a proceeding against it by Carl Kliem Corporate GmbH; (ii) assisting in pursuing an appeal against the order of a Single Judge of the Bombay High Court admitting a petition for winding-up filed by Bank of New York Corporate Trustee Services Ltd.; (iii) assisting in obtaining the Bombay High Court’s permission for the divestment of the nutrition business; and (iv) assisting in preparing the of Statement of Claim and an application for interim relief in an arbitration in Bhopal.
  • Advised Ashapura Minechem Limited, India’s largest multi-mineral solutions provider, on litigation strategy.
  • Represented DHL Express (India) Pvt. Ltd., a global market leader in the logistics industry, in arbitration proceedings on a dispute against an Indian bank.
  • Advised Amaprop Ltd., a fund managed by US-based Amaranth Advisors LLC, in its dispute with Indiabulls regarding certain share transfer rights and restrictions in the shareholders agreement, and represented it in an arbitration in New York.  Also advising Amaprop Ltd. on defenses to a petition filed in the Delhi High Court, under section 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, by IndiaBulls, challenging the New York award.
  • Advised SABIC UK Petrochemicals Ltd., a subsidiary of one of the world’s top-10 petrochemicals company in the world and the largest non-oil company in the Middle East, on enforcing a foreign judgment in India.
  • Acted as Indian legal counsel to Celador Films Ltd., UK, and successfully represented Danny Boyle (director of the 2008 British film, Slumdog Millionaire), and Christian Colsen (producer) in complaints filed against them in the local Magistrate’s court in Mumbai alleging obscenity and defamation, and also litigation filed in the Bombay High Court.
  • Represented RMC Project Management International LLC, a subsidiary of RMC Project Management, Inc., a leading global innovator in project management training, which offers one of the most renowned project management study software, in a copyright infringement law suit in the Delhi High Court against Whizlabs Software Private Limited, a Delhi based company.
  • Represented Bank of Ireland, a diversified financial services group, in trade finance litigation in India relating to a letter of credit dispute involving a major Indian nationalized bank.  
  • Represented Harb, Levy & Weiland LLP, a global public accounting firm, in a litigation matter under the Bombay Shops and Establishments Act, 1948, in respect of alleged violations relating to maintaining employment registers, leave books, etc.
  • Represented ARAMARK Patman Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ARAMARK Corporation, a US-based Fortune 500 company, delivering customized management solutions, including facilities management and food services, in a winding-up matter against a premier Indian aviation company. Also, advising ARAMARK Patman Services Private Limited on the enforceability of a Letter of Intent executed with IIT Chennai Research Park and the arbitration provision contained therein.
  • Advised Symrise Private Limited, a Symrise group company, which is a global leader in the flavours and fragrances space, on compliances under the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976, and the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954; and also advised on the appropriate course of action with respect to a notice served by the Department of Legal Metrology on one of its distributors for certain non-compliances. 
  • Advised W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc., a leading US-based manufacturer of advanced technology products for the electronics, industrial, fabrics and medical markets, on Indian product liability laws applicable to the delivery of medical devices and services. 
  • Advised Smith International Inc., a leading US-based worldwide supplier of premium products and services to the oil and gas exploration and production industry, and the petrochemical industry, on litigation strategy to recover monies from its debtors.
  • Represented Thomas Weisel Partners, US, in litigation and strategy advice relating to civil and criminal action against a rogue employee in India; enforcement of non-compete covenants in India; data protection; etc.
  • Assisted AstroTurf, LLC, a Georgia-based company, in drafting a release agreement and agreement for compensation with National Plastic Industries Ltd., India.
  • Represented M&M Air Sea Cargo GmbH, a German freight company, in a litigation in the Bombay High Court against an Indian buyer of goods.
  • Advised Trimble Navigation Limited, a leading US navigation systems company, in a dispute with its Indian distributor and issues concerning termination.
  • Represented Classic Stripes Private Limited in a litigation in the Bombay High Court and arbitration proceedings in Singapore, commenced by a Europe-based fund with whom it was seeking to do a deal.
  • Represented SoftBrands India Private Limited, Bangalore, and Hotel Information Systems (M) SDN BHD, Malayasia, both subsidiaries of SoftBrands Inc., USA, in a consumer dispute with one of their Indian customers.
  • Advised Cleveland Cables Company Ltd., a distributor of electric cables in the UK and Europe, in the defence of an anti-suit injunction application filed against it by Shakun Polymers Ltd. in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
  • Advised Mueller Flow Control, a leading Canada-based distributor of pipe and valve fittings, and fire protection products, in a litigation with Interfit India Ltd., in the District Court of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in respect of an anti-suit injunction.
  • Advised Bayer CropScience Limited, one of the Indian arms of multinational giant, Bayer, on potential civil and criminal liabilities, and possible defences, against negligence claims in maintaining security measures at its chemical plant in India.
  • Advised JBF Industries Limited, an industry leader in polyester chips and one of the top-5 players in polyester partially oriented yarns (POY) in India, on enforceability of an ISDA Master Agreement and litigation strategy.
  • Advised Elektro-Thermit GmbH, a subsidiary of the Goldschmidt Thermit Group, a global market leader in construction, repair and maintenance of railway systems, on the legality of commission payments made to the director of its Indian joint venture company, including maintainability of civil and criminal proceedings against the director.
  • Representing Armstrong World Industries India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of resilient vinyl flooring products and acoustic ceiling systems, on a consumer dispute with National Insurance Company Ltd.
  • Representing SKS Ispat and Power Limited, an ISO – 9001/2000 certified integrated steel conglomerate, in a criminal writ petition.
  • Representing IFB Agro Industries Limited, a reputed Indian company manufacturing various consumer oriented products, in a criminal matter against Shiva Marketing.
  • Advising Mr. Kinney Galani, a US-based NRI, on Indian testamentary laws in a family dispute.
