Majmudar & Partners is involved in significant pro bono and charity work. In addition, the founder partners of the firm have established Hirani Foundation (HF), a not-for-profit company, almost two decades ago. HF’s focus is on education and healthcare.
Since its establishment, HF has given education grants and loans to various deserving students for their schooling, as well as graduate and post-graduate studies in various fields, including law and medicine. HF has run a scholarship programme for deserving law graduates to pursue higher studies abroad. HF scholars are now eminent practitioners in different fields of the law, including public service.
On the healthcare front, Majmudar & Partners advises the Institutional Ethics Committee of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), the largest charitable cancer hospital in Asia, on various legal and ethical matters in relation to cancer research and related projects. Over the past five years, the firm and HF have both made major fund contributions to TMC for the treatment of needy cancer patients and augmenting infrastructure.
